I’ll never tire of hearing stories from my Arlo team. What they did on the weekends, how they spend their holidays, what their kids have been up to. … All the little things that happen in those hours they’re not here, with me – in the studio – making Arlo & Co magic.
I’ve been chatting with the crew this week, about Christmas traditions. And in case you love a little memory making, too, here some of the ways the team behind Arlo & Co are making memories, building traditions, and creating connection with their loved ones at Christmas… 👇🏽
Enjoy a lil’ Christmas tradition inspiration, below. And as you gear up for the holidays season… All my best. x
“Every year we go shopping to update some of our Christmas ornaments,
before putting up the tree on December 1st. On Christmas Eve, we get out some treats and nibbles for everyone, and sit together as a family to watch a Christmas movie.” – Mel
“Ever since my girls were little (they’re now 15 and 17), we have had an Advent Calendar at home – a set of little metal buckets.
When they were small it was filled with treats, but as they’ve grown older, we now fill it with activities. So, every day in December we will do something as a family. One day it might be watching a Christmas movie together, another day making a gift donation to a charity, or baking something like mince pies or Christmas cake. It’s such a wonderful way to have quality time with the girls and to show them the importance of giving to others and being thoughtful at Christmas time.” – Shellie
“Every Christmas Eve, my wife and I open our presents to each other, and our kids get to open their Christmas Eve Box. They get new Christmas PJ’s, choccies, and a DVD that we will all watch together” – Rich
“On December 1, all the kids get their Christmas doonas on their beds. I love seeing their excited faces when they come out each year, especially the youngest. Then we will watch The Santa Clause 1, 2 and 3 over the next three nights to get into the spirit of Christmas. And of course, Elf on the Shelf. Which works out well now because I can enlist my older children to help come up with ideas every night!” – Kelly
“Last year, my 2 year old and I made a gingerbread house together and I’m so excited to carry that tradition on every year as she grows up! And now her baby brother can join in, too.” – Sarah
“Our Christmas tradition is a swim in the dam on the farm on Christmas Day – and the whole family gathering together on Boxing Day at my Dad’s.” – Mark
“Taking the kids for a walk down the street to find Christmas lights is definitely a highlight for us.” – Kylie
“We set out treats for Santa and make reindeer food for the reindeers to have when they drop by. Of course in the morning, the treats are gone and the reindeer food has been knocked over and eaten. 🙈 I’m wondering how many more years I can keep this up before the youngest is onto us!” – Ash
As the end of the year nears, we hope you get a chance to connect with loved ones, making new special memories, and taking time to enjoy each others company.
With love.
xx
